L'express Des Iles Pointe-a-Pitre Reviews
Snappy boatride Apr 30, 2012
We wanted to visit Marie-Galante located South of Guadeloupe and North of Dominica. The small island is a dependency of Guadeloupe, which is an overseas department and region of France. Marie-Galante has a land area of 170.5 km² and it has only around 12,000 inhabitants.
We had driven quite fast to get us from Anse-Bertand to Pointe-a-Pitre from where the ferry were leaving at 8.30 am. There was not much queue in front of the ticket office, but every ticket took its time to get issued, as they needed loads of information in order to issue the ticket. The ride was only a bit more than one hour each direction and the ticket was 42,60 euro for each of us. The boar was quite modern and there were lots of space so we didn’t have to sit too crowded. They served water and a sandwich during the trip, so it was quite okay.
On Marie-Galante we sailed to and from Grand-Bourg and the small town was quite nice.
