Lewes is a historical town in East Sussex, located not far from Brighton and Eastbourne. The town has a lot of charm with many of the buildings still looking like they did in years ago. Lewes is most known for Lewes Castle as well as being the home of the Harveys Brewery.
The town is also famous for having the UKs largest Bonfire Night celebrations. The towns of Sussex have a bonfire society and all host a bonfire night on different days. Lewes, being the best, gets to have it on the actual Bonfire Night, 5th November. No where else in the UK celebrate bonfire night in such a way!
