Leticia Overview

Leticia is a small town of approximately 37,000 inhabitants situated on the left bank of the Amazon River. City belongs to Columbia but it is separated from Brazilian city of Tabatinga by one street. It is definitely a wild border town due to its isolation. There are only two ways to get here:
By plane
You can only get into this spectacular, tropical and adventurous town from Colombia by plane. The only place connected to Leticia by a commercial airline is Bogota, there are daily flights with companies Aerorepublica, Aires and Satena. The flight lasts two hours. There is also an option to get here from Iquitos with a military plane.

By Boat
From Peru you can take a rapido (speedboat) from Iquitos to Santa Rosa in Peru (200 Soles / 10 hrs ) or with slow boats for 70soles (takes 2 days). Than you cross the river by small taxi boat. From Brazil you can take boat from Manaus to Tabatinga, and than cross the road to enter Leticia (cost 170 reales 4 days).
