The Grand Canyon Of The East Aug 11, 2015
We had to pay the vehicle entrance fee of $8, but it's free for New York state residents which I thought was a bit unfair. Our rental car had New York license plates but the young guy at the entrance booth also wanted to see our New York ID cards, which we didn't have of course as we are both Florida residents.

The park is about 17 miles (27 kilometers) long, covering 14,350 acres (58 square kilometers) of land along the Genesee River which roars over three major waterfalls — called the Upper, Middle, and Lower Falls. Surrounded by lush forests are the cliffs, created by the river's path over thousands of years, they approach 600 feet/183 meters.

Cabins and camping sites are popular at this park, and for those who prefer accommodation within the park without "roughing it," there are several inns with comfortable guest rooms and fine dining. Some of the additional attractions and recreational activities at Letchworth are swimming pools, fishing areas, hiking trails, horseback riding, hot air ballooning, whitewater rafting and canoeing.

Letchworth won the 'USA Today' Readers' Choice Award for best state park in the United States for 2015. Letchworth came out on top of the 19 other state parks nominated for the contest, chosen from more than 6,000 parks across the nation.

I think we spent the whole afternoon there. It was a pleasant experience with nature, along with the magnificent scenery as an added bonus. The attached photos don't do much justice to the wonders of the place, but will give you an idea of natural beauty in all its glory.

Some great photos Cho! Sometimes with these state parks you can sneak in for free on certain days if nobody is manning the entry booths.

Awesome park for nature lovers. May 14, 2011
I went here as part of a camping trip with a few friends and loved every minute in the park. The multiple waterfalls were absolutely beautiful and the double/triple rainbows were the icing on the cake. The park calls itself the Grand Canyon of the east which i cannot validate because i never been to the real canyon but this one is pretty nice. There are several trails that you can do and stairways were you could take amazing pictures. The park features two main waterfalls that i saw although i think they were three, and picnic areas. You can camp in the park which we did not do but it seems like a good time. There is also a old bridge/traintrack which said no trespassing but we dared to cross. The view from up there-pretty amazing.
