The City of Leshan is famous for it's giant Buddha statue, this 71m high Buddha is the largest in the world and Leshan's main attraction. Leshan is an easy day trip from Chengdu. There are some other interesting site's nearby. About 30km north of Leshan lies the thousand Buddha cliffs and about an hour west from town lies Émei shan.
from Leshan there are many buses to Chengdu(2 hours) and Émei (1 hour). to get to the giant Buddha from the bus station take bus number 13 or one of the many taxi's
