An open market in the Marais district where you can gete the freshest cheese (hundreds), and they will pack them for you to take back to the US (if you can clear customs). It has excellent selection of wine, produces, meat, flower, fresh pasta, sushi!...too much to list.

I find this is a great place to stock your fridge for a week trip in Paris, and immerse yourself in the life of a Parisien.

By the way, my friend told me the reason for the name (translated into litte red children)is because this was once an area where the orphans played and back then they were wearing the red clothing to they are recognized - hence the name.
