Surprising French experience outside of France Apr 16, 2006
While this restaurant has the potential to be very cheesy and touristy (it IS in the Epcot international pavilion after all), it is surprisingly authentic. Grant it, you can go in, rush through lunch, be out and miss the whole experience. But if want a relaxed meal, to talk over desert and drinks, and don't want to feel rushed, this is the place.

I've eaten lunch at Les Chefs de France a few times, and I have never been disappointed. The steak frites is pretty good as is the chicken crepes, and the quiche Lorraine is comparable (or better!) to anything you can get in Paris (but perhaps not Lorraine). Being an eternal lover of onion soup, my all time favorite is the onion soup, with a thick delicious layer of bread and cheese, it could make a meal of it's own with the house salad. May not be the best in the world, but it's up there in the top 5. Definitely the best simple, French food I've had in America outside of my momma's kitchen.

The service was very French as well, never rushed, food came out slowly, not appetizer-salad-entree all at once, and the check didn't come until we were well good and done and we asked for it. This might not be the place to go if you're in a hurry, but it's a good bet if you want to relax and enjoy your meal and your company.

If you're a little strapped for cash, like I said, the onion soup and a house salad can be a meal on it's own. There's also a crepe stand out front and patisserrie out back. Skip the crepe stand (a lot of $$$ for soggy, not so good crepes) and opt for the patisserie where you can get a sandwich or a treat (yummy meille feuilles!) and some coffee, and people watch on one of the little tables outside. But fret not, those little tables are sizably bigger than the ones in France.

Our first meal in Disneyworld. Problem is that this review has been a while, so I can't remeber what we had. We did have a lovely waiter who had lived in London and worked in Hammersmith for a while before coming to Epcot, he was also about to leave as his Visa was running out. We did manage to book the table during the day but only got a late booking and so were in the Resturant whist the Illuminations fireworks were going on, and although they did dip the lights, becouse just outside there was a pergula even though we had a window table we could barely see any fireworks.
