Lekoni Vacation Guide
Lekoni is a town of roughly 500 people located approx. 100km east of Franceville in eastern Gabon. It was once the site of a theater and various hotels for tourists, that have since fallen into disrepair. The road from Franceville to Lekoni has been recently improved to make travel easier. The main occupation of the residents of Lekoni is subsistence farming, mainly manioch a kind of tuber which is also grown in south america. Currently Lekoni is also the location that the Gabonese government has based a Chinese contracting company out of that is working to complete a road that will run to the border with Congo Brazzaville.

This was a trip I took to Gabon to do some volunteer work with a Linguist who is attempting to be the first write down a local language. Special thanks to Mike Schubeck for taking some of these pics.
