Lekki Conservation Centre Reviews
A tranquil spot in a bustling city May 27, 2016
If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Lagos, enjoy a quiet morning at Lekki Conservation Centre (LCC). LCC is a 78 hectare site dedicated to protecting wildlife and conserving the natural environment in Lagos State.
When you arrive at the park's gate, you pay a small entrance fee. An informative guide will meet you at the visitor's center and lead you through the park. Guests walk along a boardwalk through a forest, swamp, and savanna grassland. You may be lucky enough to see monkeys, crocodiles, a wide variety of birds, and many other animals. The guides are great at spotting animals for you and also explaining the vegetation, such as the tree that produces palm oil. You can also climb up to a tree house and enjoy the view above the tree canopy.
I'd strongly advise anyone to arrive early in the morning as this is when you're more likely to see animals. We arrived in the afternoon and only saw a few monkeys, but I'd happily return as this is a place I'd like to support. As Lagos experiences further development, it's nice to see this type of preservation.
