Leipzig's Christmas Market Reviews
Leipzig's Christmas Market Dec 07, 2011
The Leipzig's Christmas Market in 2011 takes place from November 22 until December 22.
The traditional bustle of the Christmas market during the Advent period in the city goes back to the year 1486. And as is only right and proper for a real Christmas market, it will continue to be held every year in Leipzig's city centre, outdoors and in the fresh air.
It's located at several streets and squares all over the city center. The streets and houses are festively decorated as well as the market stalls. The trader's have lots of things to offer. From handcrafted Christmas ornaments to the famous Erzgebirge (Erz Mountains) craftmanship and from candies to "Feuerzangenbowle" (mulled wine with rum).
They have a scandinavien part where people from Finland cook fresh salmon and serve glög (mulled wine made from berries) and a historic part where you find specialities and craftwork in historic stalls. I love this part most ;)
It's still time to go and if you're around Leipzig it's really worth it. Have as much fun as I had.
Merry Christmas :D
