Cars, cars, and more cars Aug 24, 2014
The LeMay Car Museum has a lot of cars, over 300 hundred of them that span the length and depth of a large, slinky-on-its-side-shaped building going four floors deep. Even if cars aren't your thing, be prepared to see an item or two that bring a smile to your face. For many visitors, the smile is brought on by reuniting with the exact make and model of their first car, and regardless of your age, it's probably here.

The cars on exhibit are mostly donated from private collections, a lot of them from the LeMay family themselves. I saw cars of every make that I know (Dodge, Chevy, Ford, Chrysler, Cadillac...) and many more that I've never heard of. The manufacture date of these cars go all the way back to 1899.

You'll see your fair share of muscle cars, concept cars, and roadsters, but also novelties like the Delorean and a Flintstones car. There are also exhibits that showcase the "British Invasion" of cars and the future of energy in regards to cars.

As a female who has no special interest in cars, (I took my father here when he came to visit) I can still recommend checking it out. It's near the museum district of Tacoma, across the street from the Tacoma Dome. So not only is it in easy reach from popular attractions, but it provides a great view of downtown and the Thea Foss Waterway from the top floor of the building.
