Le Quinze Marseille Reviews
Awful restaurant: eat elsewhere Jul 22, 2015
N43°17.654' E5°23.087' our well-researched restaurant of choice was closed on Sunday evening, like the majority in Marseille, but this French restaurant was the only one in business. After studying their extensive menu outside, we wanted to be surprised.
Their surprise was of a much-unsuspected order in April 2015. First, the waitress advised us mildly with her suggestions to alter our choice of menu. Her guidance made clear that the extensive menu was quit limited. We went for the salmon and entrecote dish and a bottle of red Balli de Suffren, Vin de Procence, 2013.
This husband and wife restaurant quickly served our meals. Too fast taking the normal preparation time. The salmon dish was not from fresh salmon, but the usual cheap deep freeze supermarket stock. Not expected in a harbour town like Marseille with an abundance of fresh fish.
Although supplied with a sharp meat knife, the entrecote resisted every attempt to be cut. It was still too raw inside. It went two times back to the grill for further tendering, with no effect. Looking close this was not entrecote quality at all. The only reply from the waitress was that another guest did not complain about her entrecote.
We looked around and noticed guests at two more tables, one already finished barely eaten their pasta dishes and the cook watching the football game Olympic Marseille versus Paris Saint-Germain on his iPad. The damage was € 57,-.
Sometime ago this husband and wife restaurant lost their appetite for serving decent food and prayed with low quality deep freeze food on unaware visitors looking for somewhere to eat on a silent Sunday evening. Only the large stock of detergents in the toilet impressed us.
Stay away from this awful restaurant and leave husband and wife fight out their divorce and closure of this shameful place.
