Le Puy-en-Velay Vacation Guide
Le Puy-en-Velay is town in middle of France with aprox. 20 thousands inhabitans. Town lies on hills formed by volcanic activity. It gives to city unique character by plenty of small streets, romantic corridors and quier corners.
There are several hotspots which you schould not miss. Cathédrale Notre-Dame du Puy with mixture of Roman Catholic and bit of arabian architecture. Saint Michel d'Aiguilhe Chapel build more than 1000 years ago stands above all the town on volcanic vent.
The city is also known because of Verveine liqueur, green lentils and medieval festival called Le Roi de l'Oiseau (The King of Birds) which happens every year in the middle of September and it's definately wothy to visit because of plenty of street actions, theatres, concerts, lots of fun and drinking party till early morning :)
