Le Pommier Vernet-les-Bains Reviews
A real treat in Vernet-les Bains May 17, 2003
It's only cheap if you choose cheap dishes but we found that no hardship.
We tried this restaurant early in our stay at Vernet-les-Bains and liked it enough to return on our last night of four, leaving several other places untried. It was pretty full both times and Vernet was still 'between seasons' so I reckon booking has to be advised in high summer. The first thing which appeals is the general ambience of the place - very friendly with quite sufficient English but prepared to let you try in French if you prefer. We were on the cheapest menu both days. The first day we chose poulet as our main dish - the one constant choice, the other being the plat du jour which, on the second occasion was delicious boudin Catalan. Starters and desserts were very tasty.
