Le Méridien Munich Travel Reviews

Jun 23, 2007
This hotel was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. It gives off an abosolutely hip, modern yet sophisticated vibe that combines the old-world flair that one expects from a European hotel with contemporary amenities all travelers need. It's located in the heart of Munich near the Bavarian Opera House and Marienplatz Viktualienmarkt market, and is right across the Hauptbahnhof railway station. The room is a great retreat from the busy Munich city outside, each coming with a plasma tv, air conditioning, a safe, cable channels, bose cd radio, huge desks, comfy beds, a bathtub, and shower. The service complements the calibur of the hotel. The staff is friendly and always eager to help showing you the best places to see in Munich. When you stay here you feel like you're being pampered and like you never want to leave the room, although you should because you're in the beautiful city of Munich! However, all this comes with a price tag of over 150 euros a night during the summer season. They do have specials if you check the website or you could use Sheraton Points to pay for the room instead. One thing is for sure, though, if you stay at Le Meridien, you'd think Munich was the best place ever and you'd definitely want to come back.

lynnep says: If you're from the U.S., you'd never believe this was a Best Western. It seems too nice to be a B.W. The restaurant and bar is almost fancy looking (but casual dress reigns supreme). The entire staff is at least conversational in English, if not fluent, and they are all very nice. No dirty looks ...

mainhart says: The Hotel Monaco was a pleasant surprise. It was one of those budget-oriented pensions/hotels that actually looked better than their website. The hotel is near the main train station in a commercial area, yet on a quiet side street. It is close to the tramlines and metro, which you may not even need...
