Situated in the extreme west of the Gers, in the South West of France. Le Houga is around 1 hour 40 from the Alantic Coast and 1 hour 30 from the Pyrenees. Pau is the nearest airport about 1 hour away and the nearest railway station is Mont-de-Marsan about 25 minutes away.
Le Houga used to be a 'castelnau'. It is now a quiet but pleasant village, with plenty of countryside, hills and woods. There is a lake and bull fighting arena.

So as with any trip to the house work must be done. This time we took on the courtyard, weeding, lining, and covering with gravel. The hard, dry, clay soil made this job so much easier!!
