Le Cristal Narbonne Reviews
Okay, but not great May 19, 2012
We arrived Narbonne late in the afternoon on a Sunday. Strolling through the city we realized that there were not many restaurants open on a Sunday. One of the few we found was Le Cristal. Le Cristal is a bar and brasseri located along Canal de la Robine. The main entrance is facing the plaza and Hotel de Ville.
They have a nice outdoor area by the canal, but that was only for drinks, so we had to go inside. Too bad on a nice and sunny day. The interior was modern and decorated in peach and brown, which gave the place a warm atmosphere.
Le Cristal serves sandwiches, salads, meat, fish and pizza. Something for everyone. Todays special offer was brought to us on a blackboard. We ended up ordering a chèvre and black olive pizza with honey and a 4 fromage pizza with chèvre, camembert and roquefort. The service was efficient and the food arrived after a short wait. The pizza was the original Italian kind with thin crust. Unfortunately it was loaded with cheese, which made it quite greasy. It was too heavy for me to finish.
Our waitress was sweet and very patient with our limited school French. She didn´t speak a word of English herself, but that was not a problem. We did notice other waitresses, who were not of the nice kind. They seemed to have a bad day.
Would I eat there again? If it´s not on a Sunday, when choices are very limited, I would look for another restaurant.
