Now, I like a steak when I come to the US and I was promised a good one at Lawry's Restaurant just off the Magnificent Mile in Downtown Chicago.

When you enter, the place is nice enough, decor is upmarket traditional but nothing really special. The steaks however were fantastic - just about the best steak I've had in the US and it was served with a small amount of theatre as well (you'll have to go to see what I mean!). What made it even better was that I had gone the 'Steak and Lobster' option and, again, the sizeable lobster tail was excellent.

Would I go back - yes sir! But only if, like this time, it was paid for by somebody else.

ps, the wine selection is good too!
