Relaxing venue not far from the famous zoo May 11, 2010
The Lauritzen Gardens of Omaha is fairly new addition to Omaha's suite of family suitable venues. It boasts roughly 100 acres of space and multiple gardens styles including English and Japanese gardens. It is a relaxing walk and open year round although I have yet to visit during the winter.

There are sculptures and art amongst the grounds giving the impression of a natural museum and a sanctuary. Most of the paths are wheel chair accessible but there are some considerable and prolonged slopes to contend with.

The main building has a small restaurant as well as an abundant staff to address questions. This is an informative site with a mission focused on education. There are a multitude of programs to choose from catering to all ages so it is worth reviewing the website. My wife is interested in the Yoga class (I am not).
The boys in a rare still moment.
