After our fun night at Hawley House, we needed a bit of a sleep in. No such luck though, we had to be in the restaurant for breakfast and then check out. Our destination today was Launceston, the second largest city in Tasmania. I have always liked Launceston and was looking forward to showing Shane around this pretty town.

Although we were in Tassie for basically 2.5 days, we were able to do quite a bit. Traveling with parents is quite a different affair filled with less exercise, more food. Not necessarily a bad combination in small quantities.
On our first day, we went to the Trowanna Wildlife park where we got to pet a koala, see quolls eating dead kangaroo, feed (live) kangaroos, watch Tassie devils fighting for food, and see a wombat. Not the most "naturalist" experience, but it was a go...

I love Tasmania. I feel so energized when I visit there. Beautiful scenery, friends folks, great wine and food. Couldn't ask for any more.
