Tapas & Wine in La Mariscal - Latitud Aug 16, 2009
If you like wine and tapas, this is the perfect place for you.

They are located at the square in the party town of the city. The location is very nice. The atmosphere is great, all wooden. Nice tables and wine cellars. Like the modern design of the place.

There are some tables outside and the tables inside are next to the window, so they also have a great view. The light is not bright, which makes the environment even better.

Now, talk about the food and drinks. Of course this place is most about wines, but they also have beer. They have an interesting system. You pay a fix fee and they will keep on refilling your glass the whole night. You had to choose a wine and the fee you paid would depend on the wine you chose. They have a wide selection of wine, but mostly Southamerican.

There's also an all you can eat place. But there's no buffet table. The waiter would bring tapas to your table and keep on bringing them as long as you want. He would bring the different tapas cooked.

You can also just order a glass of wine and an appetizer, but this system is more convenient.

We paid US$ 16.99 each. Which is not cheap for Ecuadorian standards, but for all you get for your money is a good deal. If you aren't gonna drink or eat, you have to pay US$6.00.

Now, the tapas were delicious: cheese, sausage, empanadas, tortillas, mushrooms, veggies, shrimp, beef - just see the pictures.

And the service was great too. The waiter was filling our glasses promptly and bringing food quickly too.

I think this place is sort of new and definitely the concept is a novelty. The crew was about tourists, but also some locals.

If you are into wine and are in town, definitely this place is a MUST.

Since my glass never was empty, I really only had one glass of wine, right?
My head the next day thought differently :P
