I've come to expect a lot from restaurants in the Mission and I found this one to be disappointing. It wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't great and the service was bad. The decor is cute and they had a bit of bread and stuff to eat at the bar, so that was good. But from the moment we walked in, the host in the front seemed absent-minded and unfriendly. The restaurant was probably just half full and he said, "We have a table. Wait, no we don't. Wait." And then he walked away for several moments before seating us at one of the numerous open tables.

We got stuck with a waitress who had just started working there. It's understandable that she wasn't fantastic, but it was clear she hadn't bothered to learn the menu. Because there are so many unfamiliar Italian words on the menu, I think it would have been in her best interest to learn the basics beforehand, even if she was new. Because she was learning, it took a looong time to order our food and drinks. This may not have mattered so much if the food was good. When it finally came, it was just okay. No amazing flavors, and nothing better than you would find at a chain!
