Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has a population of 377.000 and it is the capital of the island and province. They claim they have the best climate in the world, with a steady 23º all year around. The main touristic spots are located in “Barrio de Veguetas” and in “Las Canteras”. There you find beautiful places such as “El Museo de Colón”, “el Teatro Cuyás”, “La Catedral Santa Ana” and “La Casa Museo de Pérez Galdós”.
In the old town you find tons of typical Canarian houses with beautiful balconies and a great variety of restaurants. Recently the city has built “El Muelle Deportivo” where you find a nice port with restaurants and stores and a great night life.

Estas fotografías correspondesn al Buque Oceanográfico Las Palmas, estando en dique seco antes del comienzo de la singladura que nos llevaría hasta el territorio Antártico. Fueron unas jornadas de duro trabajo que al final se verían recompensadas de sobra con las experiencias vividas.
