One of the hardest things as a tourist in any city is to find somewhere to eat while you're out sightseeing that a) is close to where you've been sightseeing while not being some sort of hideous tourist trap; b) isn't too expensive; and c) has decent atmosphere. Well, when in London, one such option is Las Iguanas at Royal Festival Hall.

Fist off, here's how you find it... the restaurant is at the foot of the Hungerford Bidge on the Waterloo side of the Thames. This makes it handy if you've just been to the London Eye or are walking along the South Bank. It's also really close to Waterloo Station, right next to the Royal Festival Hall.

Next is what time to go there... and the answer is HAPPY HOUR! This is what makes Las Iguanas so good, in fact. Every day between 5-7pm is happy hour, where a bunch of the drinks are 2-for-1 and you can get three starters for £12 or five for £20. Perfect if you're looking for some pretty cheap eating alternatives. The food has a Mexican/Latin theme, so you're looking at things like nachos to keep you going. There are some good options for vegetarians too.

Since it's a pretty large restaurant there is usually space, as well as an outdoor area. If you want to eat you can sit at one of the tables but if you're just there for drinks you'll be asked to stay nearer the bar. All good :D

Then, come 7pm when happy hour is over, you can toddle off on your way back out into London for more sightseeing or adventures, with a full belly and a merry buzz from the cocktails!
