If Mexican food is your penchant then Las Iguanas should head up your list of Sheffield eateries.

A large open room, decorated in traditional Mexican styles, you soon notice how high the room is. The ceiling is miles away. But don't let that fool you into thinking that it's light and airy – in the summer this place gets very hot thanks to the kitchen and you could really be in Central America.

The menu consists of typical Mexican fayre (rather than the more usual Tex-Mex) - chilli, nachos, fahitas, enchiladas and various tapas type dishes dominate. Everything is served sizzling hot straight from the kitchen and if that wasn’t enough they’re pretty liberal with their spices too.

Drinks aren't extortionate but try and get there in the early evening when happy hour gets you two cocktails for the price of one – line 'em up! They also serve three different types of sangria that comes by the pitcher – the perfect thing to cool down your taste buds.

Usually busy there's a distinct vibrancy about the atmosphere which is added to occasions by live Mexican music to keep things ticking along.

Spice up your life.

Believe me, you never see that much glass in Central America without it being covered in iron bars. They do a nice Mojito in there!
