Larapinta Lodge
Larapinta Lodge Reviews
An Outback starter Mar 28, 2008
I traveled almost 24 hours before arriving in Alice Springs and could have slept everywhere. But I booked a hotel in front, the Larapinta Lodge. Not a bad idea.
The lodge is situated on Larapinta Drive off the Stuart Highway and not far from the train (which is due only a few times a week, including the famous Ghan). It has an open pool, where you can enjoy the sun for 100%. Staff is Australian relaxed and helpful. Rooms are pretty standard and have brick walls, which were modern in the seventies. But there's a good bathroom, a TV and a frig. Last is a must, for it can be hot in The Alice, very hot. Run for the pool! Conclusion: good place to start your outback exploring. |
