Lapa - the cheapest party place Jan 16, 2013
Lapa, is the central party place in Rio de Janeiro, It has many night clubs, pubs and bars of various ranges from posh to local. Lapa is basically a neighborhood and not a street or highway. In this neighborhood, various streets are closed for vehicles on Friday and Saturday, so people can walk, talk, eat street food, drink, and party.

In Lapa, various kind of "cachacha" (typical Brazilian drink - like vodka) is available in different kinds of flavors. Around 100 flavors, also the cheapest cachacha and caiprinha is available on the streets of Lapa. Near the Lapa wall, you can find a bunch of people dancing samba, on the tunes. You can randomly join and do/learn samba freely. There are famous nightclubs like Teatro Odessio and few known bars with live music.
