Laos was my favorite country in South East Asia because of its honest and inviting culture. There is so much natural beauty to acknowledge and many breath taking views.

When this trip starts, there is something called...a plan. Nepal, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Thailand, Malaisia, India and Nepal again. I wonder what really happens and where I'll end up.

Woke up in total darkness at 4 am to the torturous sound of roosters. I swear one was outside my door enjoying the reverberation of its cry down the hallway. Pakbeng's electricity comes from generators so between 10 pm and dawn it's pitch black - it's been a long time since I've experienced complete darkness. Shortly after the roosters began, music started up as the hotel workers began their work day. After a 7 am breakfast of eggs, baguette, fruit, jam, and tea (a common breakfast menu lineu...

Had an amazing experience backpacking around Luang Probang and the countryside. Everyone was so nice and inspiring - I would love to go back and learn more about the villages and kids in the area. Let me know of any work or volunteer opportunities! :)

"Sabadi" - "Hello" Welcome to Laos. Today was the day we would finally leave China. We got up nice and early and jumped on the bus to Louang Namtha. It took about an hour to get to the border which was not too busy. After getting our exit stamp from China we drove over no-mans land to the Laos side. We got our visas checked and stamped and then got on the bus again. There were landslides all over the roads. Laos and southern China have had some serious rainfall over the last month. In some pl...
