Lao Orchid Hotel - Reviews - Vientiane

This is a lovely place to stay in Viantiene.. modern facade, but really nice helpful staff & location excellent. Its just round the corner from the Mekhong river stalls and easy walking to good eateries: recommend Sticky Fingers bar (for happy hour cocktails!) and Le Silapa, fine French restaurant. Its also close to see the dawn alms-giving at 5.30 am, and to some great temples. Free internet too.
At $45 B&B we thought it great value for money. Its is a very popular hotel so you need to book up early. Tip; if you are staying more than 1 night, wd recommend on booking ask for upper floor river view room (floor 4 or 5) with balcony. Or else splurge out on the top 6th floor suite no 602 which has HUGE verandah and 180 degree view of city rooftops & Mekhong.

Tip: Many bars/restaurants in Vientiane are closed on Sunday & Monday so avoid those days if possible.
