I usually take the long way to Copenhagen meaning that I drive over Bremen, Hamburg, Flensburg, Fredericia (DK), Odense (DK) and then cross the waters at Storebaelt between Fyn and Sjaelland on the bridge taking the motorway all the way from Brussels to Copenhagen. We woke up to a cold, rainy/snowy day.  Michele and I wanted to go shopping, so after another wonderful breakfast we all drove to Kiel to the mall.  We walked around a little and marvelled at the differences between German and American malls.  Mostly in the stores - this mall had kiosks for meats, cheeses, fish, bakery, fruit, etc - all the specialty shops, even an herbal tea shop.  Since it was the day before Easter, a lot of grown up Easter bunnies were buying candies an…

As i live in a pretty windless region i always use the chance to take my kite with me to the sea and enjoy some kite flying there. When i do it i feel totally free and i can think about everything.It's one of my favorite sports and the coast is one of the best places to do it.

English version can be found below! Rond half acht bereikten we Bad Bramstedt waar we een hotel opzochten en dat werd Hotel Gutsmann. We waren nu nog slechts zo’n 60 kilometer verwijderd van Kiel dus dat moest de volgende dag wel gaan lukken. Around 7.30 we reached a little town called Bad Bramstedt where we looked for a hotel and ended up in Hotel Gutsmann. We still had 60 more kilometers to go tomorrow to reach Kiel and that shouldn’t  be a problem.

On this day Sarah, Richard and myself took a day trip to Kiel via Lubeck. James didn't want to come, being lazy and a diva. Whilst on the train from Hamburg - Lubeck, the conductor came to check our tickets, and when he saw the destination, he smirked. We didn't find out why until we got to Kiel. At 16:30 pm we arrived at Camping Sankelmark in Flensburg. Here we settled the tent and ate dinner. After the dinner we found out that there was no warm water for washing the dishes. There was only warm water for the shower, and you have to pay for that. This was a good lesson, next time we have to look first if there is warm water to wash the dishes.
