Touring Europe 2006.....

I spent 2 weeks in Germany visiting a friend, but I managed to do some sightseeing. Truth be told, I wasn't that impressed with Germany. It was a nice country and all but I don't see myself going back. After spending 5 weeks in the south of France, Germany seemed so blah. I only really enjoyed the Dachau concentration camp, that was truly an experience.

I have decided that in this winter I am starting to publish couple of mini blogs of locations that are either just right in my backyard or within a driving distance to spend some time over a weekend...

For those unfamiliar with the match, the Aussies played their hearts, dominated possession but just lacked the firepower upfront to knock a goal.  Then with literally seconds left in the game, one of the 10 men of Italy left, launched in to the air to steal a penalty.  Am I bitter ? Maybe just a little :)

A week filled with hiking, swimming and sitting in front of the open fire in the bungalow with a good glass of wine and some cheese (of course.....I'm Dutch!!)

ok this is going to be a blog just about all the beers that i tasted on my travels. it will be a good way to document all the tastys in the world.just so you know beer is my drink of choice..... i try to only zasze a beer at the country in which it has been brewed bu sometimes i get a bit carried away, like after i have alreday had a few...also if one of my beers has the wrong information about it, could you please tell me, even if it is saying the wrong town or city that it was produced in

It's 3 days left before I go back to Manila.. so why not see more of Germany. The day's agenda is find a hotel in Mannheim, see places, and to shop for gifts for my family and friends to bring home. This is to show I did more than just shopping.. ; Mannheim is the second largest city in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, second to Stuttgart. Mannheim is a mixture of a shopper's paradise, an industrial and a service industry town.

I was deployed to Germany and traveled throughout Europe and the middle east.

Stuttgart has something between the fast tram and a real metro/subway - but it seems to be the best solution for the city of that size. I liked it very much. The trains were so clean and so 'nicely yellow' (hahahaha). In the city itself the metro (here it is called Stadtbahn=city railway) is almost at all locations going underground, then in suburbs it goes usually above ground level. Only in very few places there are road crossings but mostly this kind of urban transportation has its own tra…
