Lakshadweep is a union territory of India, located off the western coast in the Arabian sea. It comprises of a set of small coral islands, of which a handful are sparsely populated. Kavaratti is the administrative capital.
The islands and beaches are pristine and beautiful. There are limited tourist packages that are operated during the non-monsoon season. There are few resorts on the islands for lodging, that cater to tourists. Tour operators also have facilities for water sports such as snorkeling, diving, kayaking. One can fly to Agatti island or take a ship or cruise from Cochin (Kochi) in Kerala. Travelling between islands is by sea ferry (not during monsoon) or by helicopter ferry.
