Lakeside Inn Jul 18, 2011
Lakeside Inn is owned by the same people as the Riverside Hostel and is actually a small restaurant with three nice rooms. The restaurant serves both Western and Chinese food, among which some Guilin specialities. They also serve various types of cold beers and other drinks, as well as English and American breakfasts. There's free Wifi Internet in the whole hotel/restaurant and the bathrooms are clean and spacious. After booking through Hostelworld I immediately got an e-mail from Lakeside Inn with information on optional airport pickups and tours they could book for us. They arranged a reasonably priced driver for us to take us to some of the city's sights. The hostel is located near the bank of Shan Lake and in walking distance of several of the city's sights and Central Square. But the absolute highlight of our stay was the waitress/receptionist/cook Cookie. A sparkling and enthusiastic personality and extremely helpful in helping us put together our travel plans.

With a room price of 170 yuan this places comes highly recommended.
