I stayed last week at Lakeland Village and, though the facilities themselves were great, I had an unfortunate experience that I feel so compelled to share that I signed up for TravBuddy. On the first morning of my trip, my Brand-New sony cybershot was stolen out of my jacket from the breakfast room of Lakeland Village. I had left the jacket in the room when I walked out as the breakfast room was closing.
When I called a few minutes leter to let them know I'd left my jacket, they assured me they'd recovered it and that it would be available for pick-up at any time. When I got the jacket back later that day the camera was missing from inside a ZIPPERED-SHUT pocket that was now open.
The manager Ron listened while I told him what had happened, but walked out of the room after promising to send out a few memos. Though he also said he would talk to the breakfast people, I found out days later that he did not. In general he didn't take the whole thing too seriously.
While I realize that I obviously shouldn't have left the jacket out of my sight, the fact that the breakfast staff would so brazenly poach something so quickly disappoints me. What kills me is that we tipped the breakfast people on our way out of the room.
So stay here if you have the money. But god forbid that something happen that you would need managerial assistance.
Well, I guess I feel a little better now.

thanks for your review, had a similar thing happen to a friend at Capri. He left his camera on a table in a restaurant...and when we went back for it less than 5 minutes later, it had mysteriously disappeared. and of course the management wasn't any help...

Lakeland Village Resort is a resort located directly on the beach of South Lake Tahoe. The resort consists of hundreds of condos with a variety of rooms and models. I would recommend this place if you are going with a large group of people that you can split the cost with. I went with my entire family (over 20 of us) and we split two condos. The location of the resort is amazing. It is located in South Lake Tahoe, amount 1/2 a mile from the main strip of hotels and entertainment. There is a shuttle that will drive you to and from this area that runs almost 24 hours (I can't remember the exact times). In the in winter, the shuttle drives to Heavenly Valley, the closest ski resort.Since Lakeland Village is located on the beach, there is a marina to park boats and jet skiis that is reserved for Lakeland Village residents. The beach is also reserved for people staying here. Walking distance from the resort are a variety of grocery stores, retail stores, and restaurants. It is not far from Camp Richardson and the various hiking trails that are in that area. Though it is not a hotel, there is daily room cleaning service. There are also two pools in case the lake water is too cold.
