Such a wonderful guesthouse – go and stay with Mr Siphali, he will look after you! When we stayed he had only just built his two guestrooms on stilts which looked so romantic but were still awaiting final touches so we couldn’t christen them. Instead we agreed to stay in the dorm room (the main house is beautiful, an old Governor’s House) since there were 4 of us and although it was basic (foam mattresses on the floor) we were perfectly comfortable, plus it was only $2! The toilet and shower-room was also awaiting refurb and was even more basic than the room, but we were so charmed by the earnestness of new business owner Mr Siphali that we agreed to stay (though luckily we knew the girls in the room next door with their own bathroom so we used theirs!) We hired his motorcycle drivers for a day tour the following day ($13 each) and had a wonderful time, they are all great guys and very friendly. Mr Thy especially is very funny! When we returned in the evening we discovered Mr Siphali had also thrown an Easter party in our honour! We spent a great evening eating (the food is also good in the restaurant) drinking and dancing with him and the motorcycle drivers till late. He is so keen for his business to be a success that he will do anything to make his guests’ stay more comfortable and more fun. I really wish him the best for the future because he and his drivers gave us some truly wonderful memories.
