5 months and 5 countries... so far just a few photos with writings to come

South America was the first leg of my 5 month trek around the world in 2007. I travelled to Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia during May-June 2007, followed by Central America, Egypt, Morocco and Asia. South American Highlights included: * Tubing down the Amazon River * Horseriding in the mountains surrounding Banos, Ecuador * Taking a light-plane ride to see the Nazca lines * Going sand-boarding in Peru * Hiking the Inca Trail and watching the sunrise over Macchu Pichu ... truly spectacular!

Here's some more photos from my travels in Peru. We arrived in Lima, travelled down the coast to Pisco, Ica/Huacachina, Nasca and Arequipa. Then we went to Lake Titicaca and stayed in Puno, before going to Cuzco.

I travelled for a month In South America, went to Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador. During that month, I visited many places for the time I had, so I didn't spend enough time at a same place to know people and their culture. Usually I visit less places but try to meet and live a bit more with locals. Next time I will be going to this part of world, I will focus more on people ;)

There are two parts of the day for residents on Taquile Island. One part is the tranquil way of life - fishing, farming, providing for family and community alike; the other is what I would call the 'crazy time' between 12noon and 2pm everyday when numerous boat loads of tourists dock at one port/je…

From La Paz I headed to Copacabana, via Lake Titicaca... An old school bus, too many people and a rickety wooden skiff. I wouldn't travel any other way!
