Still one of my favorite places on earth. I have outgrown it a little bit, but mostly cause I associate it with my Grandfather who lives there. South Lake Tahoe is where it is at. Absolutely breathtaking area, but somewhat out of the way, Lake Tahoe in my opinion is one of the best places to go year round in CA. This is another place that offers something for everyone and is like Big Bear on steroids. Hiking, Skiing, Snowboarding are all here and in abundance around the lake. With Nevada owning part of the lake, why not jump over and do some gambling and win your tuition, life saving or retirement! Enjoy the nice warm weather, cool water during the summer or the snow in the winter. *Be sure to plan correctly if there during winter as you might snowed in. Money varies depending on what you are doing but all in all have a good time. PS the average group for the area is upper 50's on the northside and late 20's low 30's on the lower ;) Soak in the beauty and maybe I will see you there.

Affordable beach May 25, 2011
Sand Harbor State Park on Lake Tahoe is worth a visit. The sand quality is good. One also sees the snow-capped mountains while sunning. One needto pay for parking one's carfor about $12 for a day. Also there is aboard walk to enjoy; along the way one sees some beautiful rocks.

Lake Tahoe Nov 23, 2010
This amazing area is home to an alpine lake which is 15 miles wide and 22 miles long hidden in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. It has white sand beaches and crystal clear water perfect for the summer months kayaking, sailing, swimming or anything else your heart desires. The Nevada side of the lake is primarily state or national parks which keep development restricting allowing for endless hiking trails. In the winter the area is surrounded by world class ski resorts. This is the perfect place for any adventurer. To save some money you can stay in Reno which is a stones throw away from this amazing place.
