Lake Myvatn Reviews
Not to be missed natural beauty Jun 08, 2015
As everywhere in this country, the road to the lake is one long mind-boggling scenic amazement. The lake itself is best driven to appreciate the entire circumference. We drove from Akureyri in well under 2 hours with stops for ogling the scenery.
There are numerous unobtrusive rest stops and of course the Nature Baths. My only small complaint is that the baths were not actually very warm unless you scored one of the coveted places against the rocks. The view from the baths, once warmly ensconced, is phenomenal. I would not have missed it.
We did run into some swarms of the infamous flies, however they are not stinging and so only a minor nuisance.
