The 15 minute drive to Lake Minnewanka is a nice drive. The colour of the water is the most beautiful shade of blue that I’ve ever seen (it doesn’t always look that nice shade of blue in pictures, though). If you’re feeling brave, you can take a swim, however, the water is extremely cold, as it comes courtesy from nearby glaciers. You can also go fishing ( without live bait, as it’s prohibited), or boating. Johnson Lake is a little further down the road, and is the lake that you’d probably go swimming in, as it’s not as big or as deep as Minnewanka, therefore a little warmer, and is not as windy, either. Still, the water comes from the glaciers, so is cold, just the same. On your way to and from the lake, keep your eyes open for wildlife! There is a lot around, and, seeing as they’re in a national park, they have no fear of being hunted by humans.
