Lake Lodge Quinault - Reviews - Quinault

When visiting the Olympic Peninsula I decided to actually break my trip into 2 segments - one focused on the north side and then one which took me towards the southwest end of the park. Both were absolutely amazing, but with that said they each offered up different aspects of the Park, which was exactly what I was hoping to experience. This segment took me to Lake Quinault Lodge and should you find yourself in this area this is the ONLY place to stay. I did take the time to hike around the property, which is to say along the lake itself, but the real gems are further inland. You can walk to a few of the hiking trails down the road, however, I'd recommend jumping in the car and driving much further down in order to do some true hardcore hiking. The North Fork Trailhead was without a doubt my favorite spot because it offered the best variety of trails and also ended up providing the best views of the local wildlife. There's a great map inside the property so make sure to leverage it prior to heading out. One thing to note is that some of the closer trails maybe closed due to weather as this area does see its fair share of rain.

Also, take advantage of the restaurant downstairs as it offers a good ol' fashioned menu and these days it seems like those are getting harder to find.
