Lake Bunyonyi Kabale Reviews
Uganda's Magical Lake Jun 08, 2013
Uganda has a few lakes, but none of them is as magical as Lake Bunyonyi. I loved it at the lake on a recent overnight stop at the Birdnest hotel. The awe inspiring view as you drive down to the lake makes you want to undress and run into its waters.
'Bunyonyi' translates to 'birds' in the local language. It is the place of birds and it is obvious why it is called so.
It is has 29 small islands dotting it, each with a particular size and shape. The islands are incredibly green radiating color that reflects across the lake's surface. Together, the lake and islands create such a magical feeling all around.
Fishermen row the lake as they fish, transport boats to the islands and visitors who canoe on it as part of their recreational activities. You can also swim in the lake.
PS: Do not leave for tomorrow what you can do today!
