A nice place to stay at Lake Baringo is Robert's Campsite. Like all other campsites in Kenya facilities are very basic. The site has a nice restaurant and bar though.
Some years ago a bridge on the only road leading to the campsite collapsed and the government refuses to fix it. To get to the campsite you will have to cross the river. The river itself isn't much of a problem. The river banks are. When it rains it can get very muddy, so many of the safari trucks and busses get stuck there. During the night you can see (and hear) the hippo's grazing on the campsite. The campsite offers some great excursions including nature walks (to see scorpions, snakes and more), a trip to nearby Lake Bogoria and a must-do... a 3 hour boat trip on the lake to see the many birds, crocodiles and hippo's. Highlight of this boat trip is the feeding of African fish eagles. It's an amazing sight!
