(I was going to add this to my beach blogs... but I couldn't move it without losing the smiles and comments. The others I didn't mind, but I didn't want to hassle with this... sorry)I had such a great weekend. I was surrounded by my tb friends from Friday night until Monday night. Even when I wasn't with them physically, I had one on the phone or online with me. Who could ask for better friends.Ok, so I made a list a mile long last night, knowing this was my last day o...

I knew I was about to meet another wonderful TravBuddy!!!
Richard had sent me a text message letting me know that he was going to be in Laguna Beach, CA….only about 15 miles away from my home in Lake Forest, CA. I had already been in contact with Richard….I knew he was in town and was looking forward to a meet.
Originally, I thought that I was meeting Richard in Long Beach…..but in speaking with him….he had mentioned that after driving through Laguna he was quite hooked on the...

I needed a distraction for my kids so I could study for my exam that is a week away. My brain was on overload having to review 500 hours of studies plus a 64 page article regarding city ordinance. But I couldn't give up on studying. And I had a long enough break last night updating blogs... so... I went to the beach. That' what life guards are for right?? To watch my kids as they play on the water?! HAHAHA It worked for a couple of hours. I was able to stud...

My friend moved to LA and he invited me to go visit. Since my sister lives in California, I wanted to see her as well. I had been to Nothern California(where she lives) and so we agreed to meet in souther California. I flew from DC to LA and rented a car. The first day I was supposed to get there around 1pm and I ended up getting there @ 8pm for my delay in Chicago and LAX rental car was ot that close... I wanted to go to Newport beach and the rest of O.C. but I got there too late :(

Went diving w/ my best friend & my dad @ Shaw's Cove in Laguna Beach. I'd have to say that there is honestly nothing more relaxing than diving. I wasn't expecting too much as I know the visibility in the Cali coastline waters isn't all that great. Water was about 70 degrees, and pretty warm. Had on a 4-5 suit, and was more than comfortable w/ no hood or gloves. Had to cut the dive short on account my dad's air ran out quick. I think it was from a l...

My cousin, john, his girlfriend, Ashley, mum and me, drove
to Laguna Beach
to have lunch. But, before that, mum wanted to pick up the bowl that Marcus
made in the sawdust festival 3 weeks ago. she wanted to kill to birds with one
stone.
It was a 45min drive going south. it was smooth drive. There
was no traffic. We drove to Marcus' house to pick up the bowl. He lives 2 blocks from the beach. It was a block
from the saw dust festival like he said. We arrived and yes it...

We stopped off on our journey to look at the beach and have a good sit down. We played in the sand, and Becca even got her feet wet. It was a nice day, and good to have a relax in between the driving.

I have travelled to California several times to visit a really good friend of mine. Every trip was unique and great fun - here are some stories. I just hope I will find some pictures to add. Until 1999 I had only a pocket camera.

EVERY YEAR, THE END OF JUNE, WE GO TO LAGUNA BEACH FOR A WEEK WITH A BUNCH OF FRIENDS. IT'S A GREAT TIME. WE ALWAYS STAY AT THE SURF AND SAND RESORT. (WHICH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND) IT SIT'S RIGHT ON THE OCEAN. AT NIGHT, DURING HIGH TIDE, THE WAVES ACTUALLY CRASH AGAINST THE HOTEL. WE REALLY ENJOY LAGUNA BEACH, AFTER HAVING FREQUENTED IT FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW, WE REALLY FEEL "AT HOME" THERE. WE LOVE ALL THE ART GALLERIES, SHOPPING BALBOA ISLAND, AND OF COURSE MY FAVORITE, THE "CANDY STORE".

The favorite part of my visit to California this time, was time at Laguna beach. Much anticipated, I patiently waited as Byron planned the places he was going to take me to including wine tasting which I don’t have photographs of. I left my battery charging and carried my camera anyway, heheheheeeee!! How sad indeed.
It is my last day and I got up really early because I could not sleep (it was not because we went wine tasting, something very annoying that I dare not write on here). Anyway,...

Then today we went to San Diego, about an hour away from here - went to Old Town, dressed ...

So guess what I did today? Drove up to Laguna, Long, Newport, and Huntington Beach. I started off early, enjoying a seaside breakfast at K'Ya and wandered the streets for a bit, albeit without the shopping cart and socks! For me, Laguna reminds me quite a bit of Sausalito, the little island right off San Francisco. Both have a large amount of houses all packed together, crammed for a view of the gorgeous Pacific. Walking down South Coast Highway, windowshopping and actual shopping made me all...
