it was already 6 pm, and were still more or less 70 kms away from lagos. of course there was still sunlight, but are we going to get there on time? would we still able to find the grottos of lagos? if so, can we make it back in time in cedeira, spain to return the car?these questions were lingering…

In August 2004 I visited Lagos, Portugal with my parents and sister for 2 weeks. This vacation was all about the sun, sea and beach. We went on a dolphinsafari and visited the highest point of Europe.

The moment we stepped onto the station, we got hassled like crazy... lucky theres this nice old lady offered us a place to stay. Lagos was mesmerizing... the marinas looked more like the Monaco of Portugal!

I lived and studied in Granada, Spain. I spent time traveling around and soaking in the language. We tried to get out every weekend in the surrounding hills, mountains, beaches since bus fare was cheap and locals were friendly and wouldn't speak English:)
