There's lake just behind the Ipanema beach namely Lagoa Lake. It is a great place but it is usually ignored as people go toward the opposite direction to the beach.

Just behind the lake, there's a park over the hills. Going up in the park for 45 min, you can reach the top of the hill where you can see the best landscape of lake, i.e. one of the best landscapes on Rio, comparable to the view of Sugar Load. You can see the lake, the Ipanema neighborhood and Ipanema beach. It's magnificent.

You can also see the Sugar Load and Christ Status from a high location.

In addition, you can enjoy the nature of the park. One interesting creatures in the park is the smallest monkey living there. They are friendly and you can even touch them.

Don't miss this great place by staying at beach only ;)
