Laconia is a classic New Hampshire town of the Lakes Region with many new developments each year, but always has a small town flare. Even though every year there is something new in the town the town often turns the old into new, like a transformed train station, an old theater and a still functioning Five and Dime.

Laconia has access to many lakes (as it is in the center of the Lakes Region) and close to lots of places to hike and bike. The Main Street that runs through the center of town has many one-of-a-kind stores, seperating from the strip of fast food chains and grocery stores on the other side of town.

Laconia is home to Laconia Motorcycle Week, the largest source of tourism for the area, attracting 100,000 to 400,000 people every June.
