Lac Thien Hue Reviews
Worth visitiing Mar 10, 2010
Mentioned in one of the Lonely Planet guides, this restaurant is perhaps the most famous one in Hue that is frequented by the tourists. Apart from the hype however, this place serves some very good food at a decent price.
The restaurant is owned by a family, and the owner is unable to speak. However, he is very eager to communicate with all of his guests, and the rest of the staff are family members. It was really fun to learn about his family through his diagram and gestures.
The food is excellent and the prices are in line with what you would pay in other restaurants in Hue. Seating is good; spread across two floors and with tables near the window for great views.
I really like the grafitti on the walls. They allow you to scribble something down to mark the occasion. If you go there, look out for my name, which is scribbled near the final few steps as you head onto the first floor.
Great food, polite service and a really pleasant experience. What more could you want!
