Labnah
Labnah Reviews
Affordable hotel and close to everything Oct 12, 2009
My brother and I went to Playa Del Carmen and stayed in Labnah Hotel ("Old House" in Mayan) We got a room in this really nice hotel for $54 a night with 2 bed and a little balcony covered by trees and ivy making it more private and relaxing. Breakfast was inlcuded but we didn't try it. Instead, we would wake up and walk in the street looking for something more authentic.
The staff at this place is extremely friendly and helpful. Jose at the front desk gave us the welcome and we felt so home right away! It is a great feeling to be welcome in such a great way that you don't ever want to leave and you know that you will be missing them after you live. Jose explained everything about the hotel and the area, and also a great review about tours and things to do and see in and around Playa. The hotel itself is a piece of art! decorated in a Mayan style it give you the impression that you are in a Mayan ruin! Lots of stairways, bridges and decoration from the Mayan culture . It is really quiet and it is perfectly located between the beach (less than 100 mts) and the busy 5th Av (less than 50 mts) where everything happens. Bars, beach, restaurants, grocery store, money exchange, taxi services, everything within 100 mts!! Right on the corner of 5 Av and 6 st you will find a Money exchange with the best deal. The prices are really affordable and I thought that I was getting more than I thought for the price considering the great location of the hotel Everything is clean and neat. Some of the rooms have hammocks in their tinny balconies! The breakfast area is on the 2nd floor, in a nice open patio where you can sit and read a book or just chill there enjoying of the shade and nice breeze. No reason to keep searching for a place to stay next time I go to Playa. I know where to go and feel really welcome and at home. |
