La Quinta Inn Downtown Sacramento

After vacating my house a little earlier than expected, I needed to get a hotel room for one night in Sacramento....and one that took pets! We found the La Quinta Inn in Downtown Sac that accepted pets, no extra charge. The motel was right off the 5fwy, 2 exits from the main downtown areas. The website said $10 per day to park but they never mentioned a parking charge and nothing was added to our bill which was great since we had 3 cars between us!

The room was ok - typical motel room. Ours was right by the pool so it was fairly loud since it was a warm evening out but the noise subsided early.

One note - if you have allergies, this is definitely not the place to stay! WOW. I live in Sacramento but never saw this Cottonwood stuff flying around before and I sneezed my head off. I was miserable the whole night and morning before we left. Several out of towners in the parking lot were commenting on it as well - it looked liked it was snowing out! And the hotel backs up to the freeway so you will get a bit of the freeway noise - didn't bother us but my Mom said it kept her awake a bit.

Overall, the rooms are clean, the location is great for highway travel or if you need to be close to downtown Sac. Breakfast is included and we ended up having it in our room as we were running late (as usual) but the bagels and muffins were good. :-)

And note: handicapped rooms are available and AAA/AARP discounts accepted.
