La Placita
La Placita Reviews
Good Mexican Food in a relaxed atmospher Jun 09, 2008
La Placita is not only the oldest Mexican restaurant in Brighton, but it is the oldest continually operating restaurant in Brighton. I moved to Brighton in 1973 and it was here then, and had been for at least a year.
You don’t last 35 years without something going for you, and La Placita has plenty. The food is very good. They have the absolute best chili rellenos I have ever tasted (except for maybe my wife’s). But everything is pretty good. The food is always hot and the green chili is just spicy enough to get your attention. The service is fast, both with the wait staff and the cooks. There is sometimes a wait on the weekends, but longer than 20 minutes is rare. If there were fewer restaurants in Brighton, they would have a list nightly. All of the staff is friendly and professional. Prices are average and portions are such that you won’t go home hungry. The décor is a tad dark, but still has a nice ambiance to it. There is a fountain in the center of the old west section of the restaurant that is popular with the children making a wish. The restaurant has an established clientele, so don’t be surprised if most of the people are in their 40s or older. They accept major credit cards and have a lively to go business. They are closed on Sundays I rank this as my 2nd favorite Mexican restaurant in Brighton Part of the Brighton, Colorado--My Home Town travel blog |
